What Is Dyno Tuning?

A dynamometer (dyno) measures your vehicle's real power output at the wheels — not just what the manufacturer claims. It's the only way to get an accurate, repeatable reading of horsepower, torque, and air-fuel ratio under controlled conditions.

Dyno tuning goes further. It's the process of running your vehicle on the dyno while a qualified tuner adjusts the engine's calibration in real time — optimising fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost pressure, and more to extract maximum performance safely.

Whether you've just bolted on a new exhaust, fitted a turbo kit, or want to squeeze every last kilowatt from a stock engine — a dyno tune ensures your vehicle is running at its absolute best, not just “close enough.”

Roller dynos rely on tyre contact — which means tyre pressure, compound, and heat all affect your reading. Hub dynos bolt directly to the wheel hub, eliminating tyre variables completely. Your results are pure drivetrain output.

Most dyno shops can only test 2WD vehicles. If you've got an AWD vehicle — a WRX, GTR, Ranger, 200 Series, Evo, or any 4WD — you're usually out of luck, or forced onto a roller dyno with questionable accuracy.

Our dual hub dyno setup runs both axles simultaneously. The DI4250 handles the rear, the DI3000 handles the front — giving you a true, synchronised AWD power reading. No compromises, no workarounds, no disconnecting driveshafts.

This means we can tune AWD performance vehicles, 4WD utes and wagons, turbo diesel 4x4s, and high-horsepower AWD builds with the same precision as any 2WD car. Your vehicle runs exactly as it does on the road — all four wheels loaded.

Our DI1000 motorcycle roller dyno is purpose-built for two wheels. From Harley-Davidson Big Twins to Japanese sports bikes, we tune motorcycles with the same precision and attention as our car and truck work.

As Harley-Davidson specialists, we regularly tune S&S Big Bore kits, cam upgrades, exhaust systems, and full Stage 1–3 performance packages. Every tune is verified on the dyno with before-and-after runs so you can see exactly what your mods achieved.

We also handle fuelling corrections for aftermarket exhausts and intakes, throttle response tuning, deceleration pop elimination, and auto-tune verification. If it's got two wheels and an engine, we can tune it.
